fax-linx application suite

FaxLinK Fax Server software is an advanced inbound/outbound service that can be added to any Esnatech UC platform.

FaxLinK provides direct SIP faxing with any PBX or IP PBX, resolving faxes over existing voice channels. Not only does this eliminate the need for legacy fax machines, but also the lines and resources needed to process faxes within an organization. Fax is still a core technology in many organizations for EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and is typically overlooked.

Corporate networks are increasingly evolving to support voice, video, and data applications on a single network infrastructure. By migrating fax communications to converged IP architectures, companies enjoy many advantages over legacy analogue or time division multiplexed (TDM) fax. The centralized and fault-tolerant nature of IP fax servers:

  • Reduces phone bills by driving long distance fax traffic over IP
  • Eliminates costs of maintaining dedicated analog fax ports off your phone system
  • Easily provides fax services to all employees regardless of location
  • Lowers cost of disaster readiness associated with fax technology
  • Consolidates remote fax servers in a central location
  • Eliminates analog fax machines

Fax in remote areas

Traditionally, providing fax services to employee in remote locations required on-site fax servers that are cost-justified by a large-user base. However, with an IP fax server, employees can access the fax processing capabilities that reside in the remote data centre. The field office gateway is the link to the public switched telephone network. Adding remote offices to an IP fax server is a simple software configuration. With IP fax, a remote employee can use the company's fax server, as if they were in the office. As companies implement gateways at remote locations and centralize voice and fax services, they leverage their existing network infrastructure to route calls between office locations at a lower cost.

The shift to IP communications, combined with the increased focus on business process automation and document management, makes the IP fax server an excellent option as companies accelerate their IP communication plans.

FaxLinK service is designed to offer companies a cost-effective and easy-to-use alternative to faxing based on a unified voice and fax network, rather than costly, dedicated PSTN connections. Users easily enable their email systems to send/receive fax messages.

Cost-effective Fax solutions for your business

FaxLinK utilizes the power of SIP to enable you to send/receive fax messages anytime, anywhere in the world—using standard mail-client software.

Office-LinX provides an option for outbound fax services. This provides your business with complete fax integration. The fax server model enables organizations to send faxes from any Windows-based application through the Esnatech fax printer driver or natively from email with email-to-fax services. The fax server model acts as a active printer driver on your existing network, allowing users to work in any program and send their document to the fax server for distribution. The need for a fax modem and telephone line at every workstation is eliminated. Faxes can be sent from any computer on the LAN/WAN.

fax-linx application suiteThe Office-LinX™ Fax Messaging module makes it easy to receive, store and send fax messages from your native email client, like Microsoft® Outlook or Exchange.

Fax Messaging allows a company to create a progressive database of faxes and group them in appropriate folders on a network—reducing paper and telephone use, and significantly improving communications.

Mobile Users

Fax Messaging allows mobile users (with SMTP services) to view/manage their fax messages from their email client. Voice mail users can access their messages through a remote access server connected to their Office-LinX voice mail server.

Faxes can be retrieved from voice mail or email and stored in both TIFF or PDF formats. Every voice mail user on the Office-LinX platform has access to faxes from their voice mail.

Users can login to their voice mail and:

  • View files directly from their PC
  • Send faxes to a fax machine to pickup from a remote location
  • Send faxes to a printer on a network to view

By delivering faxes natively to email, users can store/forward the digital format with no wasted paper or expenses. The esnatech UC platform provides support for softfax technology which provides the ability to process faxes over the existing channel with no dedicated fax hardware requirements. In pure IP environments, Office-LinX manages faxes over t.30 protocol, over SIP—eliminating the need for expensive t.38 hardware.
