Jabil is a global leader partnering with many of the world’s top brands. They provide comprehensive electronics design, manufacturing product management services, and intelligent digital supply chain management to global electronics and technology companies. Operating in 24 countries, Jabil develops and delivers individualized solutions to customers in a broad range of industries.
The ability to quickly and easily collaborate—both among employees and with their customers and partners—is essential to their rapidly growing, global business.
Jabil has more than 5,000 employees who are frequent Cisco WebEx users as they collaborate with colleagues and customers around the world. In order to make it simple for these employees to use WebEx meetings effectively in their daily work, Jabil sought a solution that would seamlessly connect its WebEx solution with its Google Apps for Work software.
During an RFP process for a unified communication solution, Esna iLink for WebEx™ was selected to provide this integration between Cisco WebEx and Google Apps. Esna iLink for WebEx plays an important role in making it simple and fast to book, manage and participate in WebEx meetings.
With iLink for WebEx, Jabil employees are no longer forced to exit the application they are in and go to the WebEx site to book meetings. The iLink for WebEx browser extension, and its integration into Google Apps for Work, enables users to:
- Schedule WebEx meetings just like any other calendar event, right from Google Calendar
- Eliminate the need to book meetings on the main WebEx site
- Update WebEx automatically any time there’s a change to the meeting in Google or from a smartphone calendar
- Start an instant WebEx meeting right from any web page or application, Google Drive document or from a Google Contact Card
- Schedule WebEx meetings that use only audio conferencing
- Seamlessly move between a Google Hangout and a WebEx meeting with no separate login or registration required
“With Esna iLink for WebEx, our employees no longer have to move from application-to-application to book a meeting. That means time saved out of each day and a better user experience for everyone,” said Vincent McGuire, Director of IT / Network Operations for Jabil. “iLink’s ease-of-use resulted in good adoption rates and very few requests for IT support during the rollout.”
The successful rollout of iLink for WebEx continues and Jabil is considering expanding the initiative to include integration with more than 40 Cisco TelePresence conference rooms across their organization. Making it easier to use WebEx – and eventually Telepresence – means time saved out of each day, the need for travel potentially avoided, cost savings and a better collaboration experience for everyone.
